How can I add to the height of a antique wooden chair?
I have a 19th century wooden chair with turned (round) legs. I would like to add an inch or 1 1/2″ to the height.
That depends on if you really want to modify the chair itself and thus potentially lessening the value of it.
If that is not a concern you could add casters to the legs, or you could add extra wood to the bottoms of the legs. You can cut the new pieces to the length desired, stain them to match the existing color and dowel them onto the original chair.
