Horizontal Water Hammer Arrestor?
Obviously this would not work bwecause water would enter displacing the air. Is there any other logical reason for a T-configuration with a stub and cap in a water line? I am dealing with a leak and intend to replace the whole mess (plus additional couplers) with a straight piece and two couplings.I just want to be sure the present setup doesn’t have some function.
What state are you in hammer arrestors are only required on fast closing valves,dishwasher,wash machine.etc.
Lots of plumbers will leave a tee in the line for a future bathroom or the like.
