Debt Reduction Guidelines
Maybe you had fun while getting into debt, maybe you didn’t, but we won’t discuss it here. What is important is now that you have a debt and somehow you have to pay it down. Aha – something new – it’s called “Debt elimination” – pay it off!!
You could go to one of those “debt reduction service” places; they do an OK job, but be sure and know what it will cost in the long run. They aren’t cheap! They aren’t very fast either from what we hear. Looking into the debt reduction services on line, I found it to be very confusing at best. I found that there were at least 44 pages in the menu when I quit and left. There were over a million references, and you are looking for ONE ONLY – only one that can help you. Good luck with that.
As most anyone will tell you, you have to have more money, more income, more income ideas. Boy, that one sounds a lot easier than it actually is. It really isn’t a solution you want, is it!!! There must be something else. There has to be.
You might try spending less – yah, just quit spending. Cut it down to a manageable figure. You have that coffee at work every morning? Can’t be just coffee, that wouldn’t be cool (The coffee is hot, so it’s not the temperature of the coffee). Your coffee has to be one of those “fu-fu” things in a cup, the ones with all the cake frosting or the bubbly stuff on the top. Those things are EXPENSIVE at best! Say you cut those to one a week instead of five, pretty good money savings there. Better yet, just quit them altogether. Buy a small thermos and bring coffee from home – even a better idea.
Pay down those credit cards. Pick the one with the highest interest, pay the minimum on all of the others and hammer the expensive one. When it is paid off (cut the card in at least two pieces) go back and do it again – pick the one with the highest interest, pay minimum on the others and hammer that one. Keep it up until all of them are paid off. Those Debt Reduction Plans you made earlier are beginning to work for you.
Look around, all around you and whatever it is that you do. I am sure that you can find many ways to cut back on expenses – BUT – let’s look at that little gem of making more money again. Get a part time job. You have enough time and energy for that? Something you REALLY want to do? How’s it working for you? You need something that will pay more than just the pittance a part-timer will give you.
Why not look at a longer term, maybe something permanent that will make bucks, lotsa bucks. Take a look at the web site below. You are looking for an answer, I am offering one possibility. You might not like it any more than giving up the coffee, but if you look into it, you might find more than you were looking for, like a future! Can’t hurt!!!
