Car Insurance, in some countries you can’t even drive off the lot without it. It’s a necessity, like going to the dentist: It’s got to be done, but no one enjoys it very much. If you have Fire and Theft insurance policy, you can get compensation due to fire or theft of your car but you can not get the compensation for damage caused due to accident However you can get the compensation for the medical expenses for those who suffered injuries in an accident. Third-party insurance covering damage to car and people is also available at even less money.
A lot of things will not be covered by your insurance policy unless you explicitly bought coverage for specific items. If you did not buy insurance for sound or other special equipment, theft insurance won’t cover them. Random items from your home that happen to be inside the car will not be covered by that kind of insurance either. You will not receive reimbursement if you did not buy the coverage in the first place. Also, if you drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you won’t be covered either. You can’t be covered if you use the car for your work unless you have coverage for that specific purpose. The policies cover only certain folks; thus, if others drive your car, they’re not covered. Therefore, you must protect yourself by remaining aware of the above facts.
The excess on your insurance is a leverage device, which allows you to lower your premium, yet takes a bigger risk. The excess is the amount that you will pay in the event that you must make a claim. Different types of claims have different excess. When you buy your insurance you can adjust the excess up or down according to your needs.
Whether or not you are a person who frequently skips “the fine print,” it is very important that you read all the materials that are provided to you with your insurance policy. These materials will include instructions on how to file a claim in the event of an accident or a loss due to theft or fire. Because you may need these instructions in a crisis, it is recommended that you keep one copy in your vehicle and another in a fireproof safe in your home, or in a safe deposit box. When there is a loss, be sure to call your insurer right away, and follow up with the required forms or paperwork.
