My boss might be stealing my tips?
I work at a country club shining shoes. I personally get tipsa handed to me. My boss tells me to put them into a basket and then I never get them? but the guys that work down the hall in the mens grill can keep theirs is that legall for him to do that i think he might keep them for himself?
NO!!! VERY ILLEGAL!
Have you asked your boss where your tips are?
Start keeping a pen and paper with you. Write down EACH amount that you get and add it up at the end of the day. Then go to your boss with the totals and ask him for your tips before you leave. If he refuses, go to your HR department and let them know your boss is refusing to give you your tips. If that doesnt’ work out, your local Department of Labor and hit him with an unpaid wage claim. The law is on your side!
